Vitamin C (ascorbate, ascorbic acid) is an essential water-soluble antioxidant that also increases the production of extracellular collagen and is important for the proper functioning of immune cells. Ascorbate can protect against numerous diseases, and its deficiency can cause serious problems.
Vitamin C has a wide range of metabolic functions and significantly enhances cellular immunity. It offers protection from oxidative free radicals and is essential for collagen production, which is why high doses of vitamin C reduce wrinkling and sagging skin as a sign of aging. Vitamin C also helps maintain mucous membranes, produce adrenal hormones, and support immune function, including humoral immunity and phagocytosis. HUMORAL IMMUNITY: Cellular immunity that does not involve antibodies.
PHAGOCYTOSIS: a process carried out by white blood cells, engulfing bacteria harmful to the body. The list of diseases associated with free radicals continues to grow: infections of various origins, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, trauma, burns (both thermal and radiation), surgeries, allergies, autoimmune diseases and again ... aging. It is difficult to name a disease that is not associated with free radicals.
5 GRAMS ARE NOT ENOUGH
Many disease symptoms result from the almost complete lack of vitamin C in the body - weakness, chronic malaise, bleeding gums, loose teeth, nosebleeds, bruises, hemorrhages in any part of the body, easy infections, difficult wound healing, deterioration of the joints, brittle and painful bones, and even death.
Many diseases arise from chronic vitamin C deprivation. Even people who consume a lot of vitamin C through food have no more than 5 g of vitamin C available in their bodies, and the majority have even far less, which is why they are at risk of many problems related to dysfunction of metabolic processes dependent on ascorbate.
Unfortunately, even 5 g is not enough. Even the recommended dose of 1000 mg per day does not work, but in any case it is better than nothing. And lemons will not do, in one lemon there is only 50 mg. vitamin C.
FROM COLD TO ... MANY OTHERS Let's see some of the applications of high doses of vitamin C:
They can stop a cold within hours.
They can stop the flu within a day or two.
They can stop viral pneumonia within two to three days.
An extremely effective antihistamine as well as an antitoxin.
It can prevent the formation of kidney stones.
May inhibit candida and various fungal infections.
They have a beneficial effect on burns, injuries and pain of various kinds.
It can help with hepatitis.
Asthma and various types of allergies.
Arthritis
Scarlet fever
Chronic alcoholism
Drugs
Cardiovascular activity
Respiratory tract diseases.
HIGH DOSES
The question inevitably arises: what does a high dose of vitamin C mean?
This is the highest possible dose that the stomach can tolerate (we are talking about a healthy stomach here). For some people this is 20 - 60 g per day, and for some it can be even over 100 g per day.
How is the individual dose for high doses of vitamin C determined? One of the most important principles in orthomolecular medicine is the biochemical individuality of a person. Everyone responds to different substances differently. Vitamin C is no exception.
The easiest way to determine the individual dose of vitamin C for each person is as follows: Start by taking 500 mg of vitamin C, twice a day, 30 minutes after meals. Every 3 or 4 days, the dose is increased by 500 mg, and you can start with taking it 3 times a day.
This continues until the disorder is resolved, after which the dose is gradually reduced by 500 mg until it disappears. The dose determined in this way is individual for the needs of the particular organism.
ASCORBATE POWDER
Which vitamin C is best?
Pure ascorbic acid powder. To reduce acidity, I recommend a 50/50 mixture of pure ascorbic acid and sodium ascorbate. In no case effervescent tablets with lemon, orange or any other flavor because of the high content of everything else but ascorbic acid (fillers, flavorings, colorings, etc.). It is extremely important to understand that taking high doses of Vitamin C does not eliminate the need to eat fruits and vegetables, quite the opposite!!!
HOW TO TAKE VITAMIN C?
The correct way to take high doses of vitamin C is in parts throughout the day.
30 min. after meals. The easiest way to take it is to dissolve it in your daily bottle of water, with the addition of a spoonful of honey - it makes a very tasty lemonade. It can also be used as a "salt" to sprinkle on food.
What is the best practice for taking high doses of vitamin C?
The best way to take high doses of vitamin C is for prevention, not out of necessity. It is advisable to start slowly as described above and continue for at least 3-4 months to build up (saturate). Then take a maintenance dose of at least 2000 mg = 2 g per day. In case of illness, cold, flu, surgery, etc., increase the dose again as described above.
SOARING?
Will taking large amounts of acid, even a weak one like ascorbate, upset the body's acid balance (pH), causing health problems? No, because the body actively and constantly controls the pH of the bloodstream. The kidneys regulate the acid in the body over a long period of time, from hours to days, by selectively excreting acidic or basic components in the urine. Over a shorter period of time, minutes to hours, if the blood is too acidic, the autonomic nervous system increases the breathing rate, thereby removing more carbon dioxide from the blood, reducing its acidity.
Some foods can indirectly cause acidity. For example, when more protein is consumed than is needed, it is metabolized into an acid that must be removed by the kidneys, usually as uric acid. In this case, calcium and/or magnesium are excreted along with the acid in the urine, which can deplete calcium and magnesium stores. However, because ascorbic acid is weak, we can tolerate very large amounts before it affects the acidity of the body.
Will vitamin C in large quantities harm tooth enamel?
No, ascorbic acid is weak (pKa = 4.2), very slightly stronger than vinegar. When dissolved in water, vitamin C is acidic, but less so than the citric acid in lemons. Just in case, rinse your mouth with water after taking ascorbic acid.
IN CONCLUSION
My practice has proven the enormous potential of vitamin C as a substance capable of preventing and in some cases even stopping a number of diseases. Vitamin C, taken in high doses, acts at the most fundamental levels, preventing endothelial changes (a reaction of the liver's connective tissue) leading to atherosclerosis, while blocking DNA degradation. I have no doubts about the proper use of vitamins, in particular Vitamin C, which is the basis for good health. In the "New Cell" Program, we practice it daily.
Yes... that's right, health is something that is practiced!
Warning ! If you are taking blood thinners or have a sensitive stomach, consult your doctor before taking high doses.
